4. Methodology, learning tasks, syllabus and resources
4.1. Methodological overview
The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards the achievement of the learning objectives. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, such as lectures, practice sessions, autonomous work, study and assessment tasks.
Students are expected to participate actively in class throughout the semester.
Further information regarding the course will be provided on the first day of class.

- Topic 1. Introduction to Islamic art
- Topic 2. Beginning (7th to 10th century)
- Topic 3. Art of the Emirate of Córdoba (756-929) and the Caliphate of Córdoba (929-1009)
- Topic 4. The Fitna (1009-1031)
- Topic 5. First Taifa period (1031-1115)
- Topic 6. The Almoravid Emirate (1056-1147)
- Topic 7. Second Taifa period (1144-1172)
- Topic 8. The Almohad Caliphate (1130-1269)
- Topic 9. Third Taifa period (1228-1266)
- Topic 10. The Nasrid Sultanate (1232-1492)
